Labour’s traditional working-class supporters are abandoning the party. Blue Labour is now the New Labour.
Apparently 4 million Labour supporters have been lost by Labour within a very short period. Whilst Labour are haemorrhaging votes the British National Party is speaking the language of the people and reaping the benefits at the ballot box.
Wales in particular, a long time Labour stronghold, has felt the betrayal more than most. Many of the former mining communities have felt isolated in a country where Globalisation and Mass Immigration have eroded the jobs market. The Industrial base that once existed across the Welsh border has not been replaced. Therefore, mass unemployment and a sense of hopelessness have replaced the once proud work ethic that was the mainstay of Wales.
In an in depth expose of New Labours collapse, the BBC and Radio 4 ask the question is the British National Party the New Blue Labour?
The people of Wales are about to let us know. Very soon the votes will be counted at the Welsh Assembly elections. Interesting?
