In a Panorama Special, Collins meets veterans who struggle to find work and housing. He sleeps rough on the streets of Brighton with a former soldier who’s spent much of the past six years either on the streets or in jail.

He meets veterans who fear for their sanity as they suffer flashbacks, night terrors and violent outbursts and talks to families who struggle to cope with the husbands and fathers who went to war, only to come home as strangers.

‘Bring Our Boys Home’ Petition to be Handed in on 3 March

The British National Party’s ‘Bring Our Boys Home’ petition will be handed in to 10 Downing Street on 3 March this year, party veterans’ officer Pete Molloy has announced.

“If you have not yet booked the day off from work, please make sure you do and come along to support this important event,” Mr Molloy said.

Prior to the handing in of the petition, the party’s veterans’ group will hold a service and remembrance parade at the cenotaph in Whitehall.

“All those veterans who wish to take part are asked to contact the veterans’ group at veterans @ bnp.org.uk,” Mr Molloy said.

“All other party members and supporters who want to attend should contact us for arrangements,” he said.

* The British National Party’s veterans’ group has also unveiled a new logo and name.

“Over the last two months, members have worked on a logo and a name for the group,” Mr Molloy said.

“The most popular choice was the Royal Navy’s Ensign Flag in the shape of a shield with the crossed swords of the British Army to the bottom left and the eagle of the Royal Air Force to the bottom right,” he continued.

The organisation will officially be known as the British Veterans’ Group.

“I would like to thank all those people who took part in providing designs and names for the group, especially Mark Walker, Stephen Palmer and Charlie Wythe who helped me to tweak it to its final design,” Mr Molloy said.

The British Veterans’ Group is open to all party members who qualify for the HM Armed Forces Veterans’ Badge and members who qualify for honorary membership. Details about the criteria for honorary membership can be obtained from Mr Molloy at the email address above.
